We are an independent startup in King's Cross, London formed of veteran developers with a strong track record in PC, console and mobile. TerraTech is a community-driven development, with full transparency, daily live streams and player involvement in the evolution of the game. After a strong year in 2015 we are expanding the team, looking for experienced and multi-talented developers who want to join us for the long haul, and play a big role in a small team.


Senior Game Programmer

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Programmer to work on the game TerraTech.

Our ideal candidate is a versatile programmer who can work across all areas of the codebase. The role involves working closely with the entire team to create entertaining gameplay systems, provide designer support, and improve the entire user experience, reporting to the Lead Programmer. They should be enthusiastic about helping to deliver the highest quality networked, physics based, sandbox game possible. 

Candidates should have:

  • At least 5 years professional game programming experience
  • Full command of C#
  • Good physics & maths
  • Detailed knowledge of Unity, including editor scripting
  • At least 1 shipped game on Unity

Candidates would also preferably have:

  • Experience with network programming, physics, graphics and/or AI
  • Good C++, also knowledge of scripting languages like Python, bash

Social Content Producer

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic content producer to create relevant, engaging content of all types, from blogs, videos and live streaming, to short-form social content. As the owner of Payload Studios’ social output, you will be comfortable working across the full content lifecycle, from planning through to delivery. You will also have an excellent grasp of how to measure and optimise analytics, in order to iteratively test and improve your content’s performance.

The ideal candidate will be equally at home in front of the camera and behind the scenes, and will have an excellent working knowledge of (and passion for) the games industry and its current trends.

Candidates should have:

  • Experience creating content for the web
  • Experience managing gaming communities and/or forums
  • Experience of creating high-quality video content
  • High level working knowledge of video editing software, e.g. Final Cut Pro / Premiere Pro
  • Ability to derive and present useful, actionable feedback from a range of data sources
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of the videogames industry

Candidates would also preferably have:

  • 12 months or more relevant experience within gaming or related industry
  • Managed an online gaming community
  • Experience working in a videogame production environment
  • Experience of Agile Development
  • Experience using web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Flurry)
  • Experience in implementing up-to-date SEO techniques
  • Greater London residence

Senior Game Artist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Artist to work on the game TerraTech.

We are looking for a capable multi-disciplinary artist who is able to turn their hand to a broad range of tasks. The Senior Artist will be involved with all areas of art production, including 3D and 2D in-game assets, VFX, animation and lighting as well as implementation and optimization on a live, constantly evolving project. Reporting to the Art Director, they will be required to pick up the project's established art style, pushing the quality & productivity of the art team while adding value to the game. 

Candidates should have:

  • At least 3 years professional experience
  • Held a senior position on at least one shipped 3D game
  • Strong experience of creating and implementing 3D assets authored with 3DS Studio Max
  • Experience with Unity on a 3D project
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Ability to work in-editor to realize consistent, high quality 3D worlds
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Candidates would also preferably have:

  • Ideally at least 1 shipped game on Unity3D
  • Ability to produce 2D concept Art
  • Experience with Unity's GUI system
  • Experience creating VFX
  • Experience of Agile Development
